About me

Hello, my name is Jessica Buchanan. I am a performer, improviser, writer, teacher and green apple lover who is based in Kamloops, British Columbia, located in the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc territory within the traditional lands of the Secwépemc Nation. I have been involved in theatre for the past 15 years wearing many different hats and I have loved them all! I first fell in love with theatre while attending shows at my local theatre company and when I got pulled on stage during a family vacation and made a room full of folks laugh, I knew this life was for me!

I have a BA in Theatre/History from Thompson Rivers University and while there, I had the good fortune of being in a wide variety of plays including: As You Like It, The Beaux’ Stratagem, Gossip, Village of Idiots and many more! I eventually moved to Toronto where I was a member of The Second City Conservatory, where I Co-Wrote/Co-Created 100% A Show. I am also a member of the Break a Leg Collective! My goal is to keep learning, performing, playing and growing in this wacky world of theatre, through practical experience and also obtaining my MFA, so that I might “mold” the minds of the future, much like mine was as a child.
